Terms of Service

Acceptance

By accessing or using StackProof ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Who may use the Service

You must be at least 13 years old to use StackProof. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement. The Service is intended for professional and educational use.

Developer accounts

  • Creating a developer profile is free and does not require payment.
  • You grant StackProof read-only access to the GitHub repositories you select during installation. We only read commit metadata and dependency files. We do not store your source code.
  • Your profile is publicly visible by default. You are responsible for the content associated with your GitHub account.
  • You may request removal of your profile at any time by contacting us.

Prohibited use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service to harass, contact, or spam developers without consent
  • Attempt to circumvent rate limiting or abuse the Service
  • Scrape, copy, or redistribute profile data in bulk
  • Use the Service in violation of any applicable laws
  • Impersonate another person or entity

Accuracy of skill data

Skill profiles are generated automatically from public GitHub data. While we strive for accuracy, StackProof does not warrant that skill scores or levels are complete, error-free, or suitable for any particular hiring decision. Skill data should be used as one signal among many.

Intellectual property

You retain ownership of your code and GitHub data. The skill profiles, scores, and visualizations generated by StackProof are derived works based on your data and are provided for your use. StackProof retains the right to display your public profile as part of the Service.

Availability and changes

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time. We may update these Terms; continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of material changes.

Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. StackProof is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.
